Each team in IPL 2018 timetable can choose for a maximum number of five players by the organization of Player Retention (Pre-Player Auction) and RTM (Right to Match) during the Player Auction and IPL 2018 timetable and according to the decision of the Indian Premier League GC at its meeting in New Delhi.
There can be a maximum number of three RTM or three retentions at the choice of the franchises. If there is no retention in the player auction, then teams can have up to three RTM, as per the standards put in place by the Indian Premier League GC.
Maximum of three capped Indian players, two overseas players, and two uncapped Indian players can be retained. The professional pool available for Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals for RTM and retention will be the players who have played for them respectively in Indian Premier League 2015 and who were part of Gujrat Lions and Rising Pune Supergiants teams in Indian Premier League 2017.
Kings XI Punjab, who were greatly engaged in the IPL auction 2018, will play 3 home rivalries in Indore and 4 matches in Mohali. KXIP will play with Sunrisers Hyderabad, Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Daredevils in Indore while other four games will be going to play in Mohali. All other 7 teams in the IPL 2018 timetable will play all of their home tournaments in one particular venue.
